Certified Data Destruction
Data Killers, a division of Turtle Wings, now offers the ultimate service for quickly, securely and completely purging, degaussing, shredding and destroying any quantity of hard drives, back-up tapes, CD's, memory devices, x-rays, etc. Our processes are quick and thorough with reasonable pricing. We offer complete compliance, complete quality control and complete peace of mind. Our Certificates of Destruction are nationally recognized and will suffice in all situations. Serial numbers can be captured and recorded as required by the customer to provide a complete audit trail. All of our employees undergo a background check, sign a confidentiality agreement and are thoroughly trained in security procedures.

Shredding
At our shredding facility in Capitol Heights, MD, we operate a 6600 pound, 4 shaft shredder with 50 hp. The machine can shred over 1000 lbs. of metal and plastic per hour. The cutting chamber is 29" x 27" allowing us to securely shred any type of electronics. Our shredder has three screen sizes (15 mm, 20 mm and 40 mm) to control the particle output size. The shredding process not only cuts and shreds the metal but by forcing it through the cutters and screens, it also compresses and compacts the media rendering it completely unrecoverable. Shredding can be overseen by the customer, recorded to DVD, monitored remotely via dedicated IP address or overseen and verified by personnel with a secret-level security clearance.

On-site Destruction
We offer an on-site hard drive destruction service. Our highly effective patent-protected machinery will significantly damage the hard drive platter rendering the data unrecoverable. The machine bends, crushes and pierces the platter so it can no longer be spun hence the data is unrecoverable. This can be done at our customer's offices as they watch.

Degaussing
Our degausser is the HD-1T which is the NSA approved degausser for purging classified media. The HD-1T degausser meets the DoD requirements for purging classified information on magnetic disk media up to 5000 Oersteds and magnetic tape media up to 2600 Oersteds. Our degausser is annually re-certified by a third party to ensure full compliance.

Purging
For customers who are interested in re-using their hard drives, we now offer both an on-site and off-site certified purging service. Our highly trained technicians can perform a Secure Erase on all ATA drives (including IDE, EIDE, PATA, SATA, and laptop drives) through an interface cable with our hardware. This Secure Erase process is in conjunction with the internal secure erase command mandated by the ATA specification developed by the T-13 technical committee.

Certifications
We are a woman-owned company with MD MBE/DBE certification and HUB zone certification. Premises are secure and monitored and comply with most SCIF regulations. We are on the GSA Schedule, contract number GS-25F-0019T. We are active members of NAID and have numerous references from a variety of companies and agencies. Our shredding process has been verified by an independent third party using classified recovery methods.
