Electronics recycling for schools and universities

With their calendar year drawing to a close, many schools and universities are tasked with updating their outdated computer and electronic equipment. Technology and electronics are utilized on all educational levels ranging from elementary schools to trade schools to universities. Statistics show that some 97 percent of teachers have one or more computers located in their classroom every day. Turtle Wings offers electronics recycling for schools and universities who want to responsibly dispose of their end-of-life and outdated electronics.

Our primary pickup areas for electronics recycling are Washington DC, Maryland, and northern Virginia; however, we offer convenient shipment option for customers located throughout the country. Turtle Wings goal is to make our certified and compliant electronics recycling services accessible to all people. We currently work with several large universities and many small schools in our primary pickup area that have already scheduled their end of year recycling projects. Turtle Wings looks forward to these annual pickups for schools and universities because it not only helps the environment, but it reduces the electronic footprint and teaches all kinds of students from small to large the importance of recycling.

Turtle Wings recycles anything metal or electronic including commonly used classroom items like computers, printers, projectors, monitors, and keyboards. (See our complete list of Acceptable Items) As an R2 and ISO 14001 certified recycler, Turtle Wings has an internationally approved environmental, health and safety management system annually re-verified by a third party auditor. We are also WBENC and HUBZoned certified which helps schools and universities to reach their subcontracting requirements and allows for sole-source and set-aside contracts. At the close of each project, Turtle Wings issues a Certificate of Recycling and Good Citizenship which shows the schools commitment to preserving the environment and adherence to local, state and federal regulations. Our electronics recycling for schools and universities is globally responsible and the perfect way to close out the school year.
