On-site Tape Destruction in South Carolina

On-site Tape Destruction in South Carolina

One of Data Killers trucks is in South Carolina this week shredding tapes for a customer with HIPPA concerns. Tasked with degaussing and shredding a substantial batch of oversized tapes, the Data Killers crew is making full use of our on-site hard drive shredding and mobile degaussing capabilities.   HIPPA requires the complete certified destruction of all health records and our customer has entered into a multi-year agreement with us to ensure that it is done properly.  Data Killers’ on-site tape degaussing and shredding process ensures HIPPA compliance.

Data Killers offers a variety of shred sizes for tape shredding and on-site tape destruction in South Carolina and nationwide.  Tapes can be shredded down to 10 mm for tapes with highly sensitive information. Shredding size is critically important in protecting discarded media from even rudimentary forensics and recovery techniques.  Data Killers offers the smallest shred size in the industry and offers this service on-site across the entire continental United States.  This means that we can come to any business facility across the country and pull right to a loading dock or parking lot to provide on-site tape shredding and back-up tape destruction so your tapes never leave your facility until completely destroyed.  Our tape shredding process and can shred anything from the smallest of DDS type tapes to LTO/DLT format tapes to VHS tapes and large reel tapes including reel tapes on both metal or plastic reel/spindle.

Tape degaussing changes the alignment of the magnetic domain where the data is stored, thus “erasing” the data. Unlike hard drives, some tapes can be re-used after degaussing. Our on-site data destruction service allows our customers to watch our process for backup tape degaussing right at their facility. Our unique process along with cleared personnel provides the highest level of security.
